Many years ago I was allowed to call myself a resident of this special neighborhood for a while. I lived there for a year, perhaps the most colorful neighborhood on the island.

In the meantime, the small apartment (see photo) has been incorporated into the Kura Hulanda Hotel, built around the turn of the century. During construction, the old buildings were left as intact as possible, preserving the authentic atmosphere.

This was the beginning of a huge upgrade of Otrobanda. 

Fortunately, a large part of the neighborhood has been renovated and we can enjoy the stories and murals that Otrobanda is rich in.
