1. When is the best time to visit Curacao?

Curaçao has a pleasant climate all year round, but the dry season from January to May is often considered the best time.


2. What language is spoken in Curaçao?

The official languages are Papiamento, Dutch and English. Most people also speak good English.

3. What are some popular beaches in Curacao?

Popular beaches are Mambo Beach, Jan Thiel, Cas Abao, Playa Porto Mari, Grote Knip and Playa Lagun. Mambo Beach is less than a 10-minute drive from B&B Toni Kunchi. Jan Thiel is also not far. At Mambo Beach there is also a small public beach with a nice local eatery.

4. How can I exchange money in Curaçao?

You can exchange money at certain banks. The easiest and cheapest way is to pay by debit card with your bank card at the various shops. ATMs are also available. Antillean Guilders are not available in the Netherlands. The Antillean Guilder and the American Dollar are linked. For 1 dollar you get 1.75 guilders.

In general, Curaçao is a safe destination for tourists. You can compare it with Amsterdam or Rotterdam. It is not recommended to visit the remote alleys in the evening.

Some popular events include the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival, the Carnival Parade, the Curaçao Blues Festival, Seu and the Curaçao International Film Festival. There are also markets all year round where you can buy local products. Events are regularly organized at the Country Houses that are focused on the function of these different Country Houses, such as guided tours, workshops or tastings.

Yes, most shops and restaurants accept credit cards, but it's always handy to have some cash on hand.

Yes, Curaçao has several protected areas, such as Christoffel Park and Shete Boka National Park.

Public transportation in Curacao is limited, so renting a car is usually recommended. I can advise you on this and possibly make a reservation.

Yes, the tap water is distilled from seawater and is perfectly drinkable.

Most shops are open Monday to Saturday non-stop from 9am to 6pm. The supermarkets have extended opening hours and can also be visited on Sundays.

18. Are there any religious customs or dress codes I should be aware of?

Curaçao is diverse, but respect local customs and avoid entering religious places in swimwear.

19. Can I buy local SIM cards for mobile communications?

Yes, you can purchase local SIM cards from telecom providers and some supermarkets to facilitate mobile communications during your stay.
