Hofi Cas Cora, from farm to table!

Who doesn't love a meal that makes nature and time stand still? For me, the sweet potato moussaka at Hofi Cas Cora is a real favorite. As you look out over the lush plantation, time seems to slow down for a moment as you enjoy this delicious dish, prepared with home-grown ingredients.

This special farm on Curaçao is committed to sustainable agriculture, nature conservation and, perhaps even more importantly, awareness. If there is one place where you can rightly say that the farm has found its 'roots', it is at Cas Cora! The plantation has once again embraced part of its original purpose. An enthusiastic and young team has developed a beautiful concept on the grounds of the Cas Cora country house."

History

Various crops have been grown here since 1844, when the plantation was still called Vredenberg. There was also plenty of livestock grazing there until the mid-20th century. Cas Cora, like Toni Kunchi, is one of the more fertile areas of the island. However, the plantations became less important with the arrival of Shell. More and more products were imported from outside. After a period of neglect, new owners started the restaurant/marketplace Hofi Cas Cora in 2014. The idea was to grow food sustainably in an environmentally friendly way according to the 'farm-to-table principle.' The farm has now grown into an important place for sustainable agriculture and education.

Activities

Hofi Cas Cora is an organic farm where fruits and vegetables are grown without the use of pesticides and fertilizers. Various crops are grown on the farm, including papaya, mango, avocado, aloe vera, okra and various types of leafy vegetables.

Next to the farm there is a restaurant 'The Eatery.' The tastiest dishes are served here at weekends using only locally grown ingredients.

During the week you can visit the 'Marketplace' to buy local products, such as nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruit. Events are also regularly organized, such as a vegetarian market or free market. All this in the spirit of conservation, restoration and awareness of nature on Curaçao.

Hofi Cas Cora has a major impact on the community and the environment in Curaçao. By growing food in an environmentally friendly way, the farm contributes to a healthier lifestyle for the population. The farm also offers employment and educational opportunities for young people and adults. The preservation of nature is of great importance for the future of the island.

The Marketplace is open Tuesday to Friday from 8am to 3pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm.

The Eatery is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 3pm.

Farm tours can be made by appointment.

Hofi Cas Cora serves as an inspiring example of sustainable agriculture and nature conservation. Their tireless efforts and dedication contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future for Curaçao.
